Hey gals! So today I decided to post a tutorial on my recreation of Rapunzel’s braid in the movie Tangled!
So let’s get started! Here’s what you will need!
A brush or comb, a small elastic (I’m using a rainbow loom band) and an assortment of fake flowers.
Make sure you have stems that are not too long or short (I learned that the hard way.)
So now that you got your things grab a doll and let’s get started!
Today I have the lovely Katrina as my model!
To get started we have to make a dutch braid! Take a big strand of hair from the top of your doll’s scalp.
Make it into three sections. (Ignore my legs I put my dolls in between my legs when I do their hair.)
This is just like a french braid only you braid in reverse. So instead of starting with the left section of hair we start with the middle. Now braid inversely!
Each time you cross over one braid grab another section of hair just like you would do a french braid.
So this is what it would look like after a while.
A little more braiding then you’re done!
Secure the braid with an elastic.
And now you have a dutch braid.
Now here comes the fun part!
At the top of the braid is where you will start inserting the flowers. The hole in the braid is where you will insert it.
Use a flower that has a shortish stem.
And stick it into the braid hole.
You’re gonna keep going gradually going from short stems…
To one’s that have longer stems.
Another tip is not to keep flowers that are the same to close together. (Pictured above)
Instead keep them far away from each other.
As you get near the end you want to insert a big flower…
I’m using this one!
After you insert it you’re all done!
There you have it a beautiful Rapunzel Braid!
(I had to take out the last flower for this to work.)
Hope you like it!
